Kettlebell Training
You may be under the impression that kettlebells are just the latest fitness fad,
but in reality they are a training tool that has been in use for over 300 yrs. Although
they fell out of favor in the US, kettlebells have enjoyed regular use in Europe for
decades. Recently, thanks to a man by the name of Pavel Tsatsouline, kettlebells are
back. Now, just as Pavel brought kettlebells back to the US Steve Shafley brings them
to you.
So What Makes Kettlebells So Special?
Kettlebell training requires functional, whole body fitness. Because lifting and controlling
a kettlebell forces the entire body to work as a group we are able to build strength, increase
endurance, and cardiovascular fitness all at the same time. Kettlebell workouts engage multiple
muscle groups (with heavy emphasis on the core) all at one time allowing us to get a full body
workout in a short amount of time.

A 4 week introductory class. Class times TBD by interest. Pleas call ahead if interested. This class is a perfect introduction to using the kettlebell to reach your fitness and fat loss goals.
KETTLEBELL LIFTING AND CONDITIONING
This course picks up where the basics left off. More intense training and conditioning and additional work on mastering the competitive lifts. Class times TBD by interest. Please call ahead if interested.
COMPETITION COACHING
For more information on kettlebell competitions and if you would like Steve to train you for an upcoming event he is available to coach people interested and will provide programming on a monthly basis to help you prepare.

Steve has a long history as an athlete competing in everything from rugby, to
powerlifting, to the highland games. He has always had a passion for learning
and has used his knowledge to meld the best that modern science and old school
methods have to offer. Steve recognized the value of kettlebells over 5 years ago
long before most had ever heard of them. His belief in the kettlebell has led him to
become a certified kettlebell teacher with the IKFF and kettlebell coach with the AKC.
He is arguably one of the best, if not THE best, kettlebell instructors in the tri-cities.
